Q. Who is the program for?

A. Inclusive Swim is specifically designed for autistic individuals and people with additional needs who may find mainstream swimming lessons or large aquatic centres overwhelming, noisy, or unsuitable. We provide a calm, supportive, and highly individualised environment where each participant can learn at their own pace. Our program focuses on safety, confidence, and enjoyment in the water while accommodating sensory, physical, and communication needs.

 

Q. What is the pricing?

A. Lessons are $60 for a 30-minute session, run weekly during South Australian school terms.

 

Q. What ages do you cater for?

A. We welcome participants aged 4 years and above, with no upper age limit.

 

Q. Can I use my NDIS funding?

A. Depending on your individual NDIS plan and budget, lessons may be claimable under: Participation in Community, Social and Civic Activities (0125). We strongly recommend checking with your plan manager, support coordinator, or NDIS contact to confirm eligibility.

 

Q. Are lessons one-on-one?

A. Yes, all lessons are run as individual sessions to provide personalised support and ensure the participant’s comfort and progress.

 

Q. Where are lessons held?

A. Lessons are conducted in smaller, controlled aquatic environments at Gilles Plains and Brighton, which help to reduce sensory overload and distractions while providing a safe learning space.

Q. Do I need to stay during the lesson?

A. Yes, a parent, guardian, or support worker is required to remain on-site during the lesson for supervision and support outside of the water.

Q. What skills are taught?

A. Depending on ability and goals, lessons may include:
- Water safety awareness
- Breathing techniques (e.g., blowing bubbles, controlled breathing)
- Floating and kicking
- Safe entry and exit from the pool
- Swimming in deep water
- Use of personal flotation devices (PFDs)
- Building confidence and comfort in the water

Q. What if I need to cancel a lesson?

A. We require 7 days’ notice for cancellations. Cancellations with less notice may still be charged in full.

Q. What do I need to bring?

A. Please bring:
- Swimwear
- Towel
- Goggles (optional)
- Any required flotation aids (if specified by instructor)

Q. How do I enrol?

A. Enrolment is easy—create a Family Portal account through our website. Once your portal is set up, you can view available lesson times, complete enrolment forms, and manage your bookings. Spaces are limited, so early booking is recommended.
