Water Safety Programs

Inclusive Swim are specialists in Water Safety, with an extensive background working with a variety of ages and abilities. Commencing in 2017, Inclusive Swim focussed on connecting Autistic individuals to the water in a safe and sensory friendly environment. This mission has continued across the past several years, with over 150 individuals receiving weekly water safety lessons.

We offer specialised one-on-one services in a calm environment. These services are offered to all individuals, which can be tailored to specific needs. Inclusive Swim focus on water safety, drowning prevention, water therapy, and general swimming skills for a variety of situations.

With a strong focus on each individual, Inclusive Swim works to achieve the goals of each individual. These goals can include;

  • Increased core strength and mobility

  • Water safety awareness

  • Correct stroke and breathing techniques

  • Awareness of surroundings and depths of water

  • Survival skills

Swimming classes are offered to all ages, ranging from babies, children, and adults. All instructors are fully qualified, and are understanding that every individual has different needs and requires various levels of support.

Lessons will be personalised to the needs of individuals to ensure that our lessons are not only instructional, but also fun and engaging.

Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy is a low-impact, highly effective form of rehabilitation that takes place in a warm water environment. It is ideal for individuals recovering from injuries, managing chronic pain, or improving mobility. The buoyancy of water reduces stress on joints, while the resistance helps build strength, flexibility, and balance. The soothing warmth of the heated pool enhances relaxation and promotes circulation, aiding in pain relief and faster recovery.

We offer one-on-one hydrotherapy sessions tailored to your specific needs. Our sessions are held in heated pools at various locations, ensuring accessibility and comfort. Each session is 60 minutes long with 45 minutes in the water, and 15 minutes of report writing.

Sensory Splash

The Sensory Swim classes provide specialised aquatic play experiences for children with Autism or other additional needs, and parents to build confidence in the water. These sessions offer a gradual introduction to swimming, water safety and basic survival skills within a nurturing, fun and flexible environment. The Sensory Swim class provides the opportunity for children with Autism or other additional needs to familiarise themselves with the water and promotes parent education surrounding water safety and safe swimming techniques.

Our program provides tailored support and guidance. These lessons are delivered by qualified swim instructors who have undergone additional training to support children with diverse abilities and can accommodate individual goals and needs. Learning is supported through songs, games and a variety of engaging skill-building activities.

Sessions are delivered for children aged between 6 months to 5 years of age in a small group environment.
